Founded in Berlin (2006), PowerPoint-Karaoke is a spin-off from traditional karaoke. However, instead of singing songs, participants give an impromptu presentation based on a random set of ppt-slides that both presenter and audience have never seen before. At the start, presenters can pick any topic. The challenge is to use the information provided on ppt-slides as a source of inspiration for the presentation about the initial topic. As such, PowerPoint-Karaoke can be considered a form of improvisational theater.
The aim of this workshop is to improve presentation skills by presenting without preparation. PPTK maintains a playful method that allows participants to hone their rhetorical skills and enjoy the art of public speaking.
Nathan de Groot will be giving a workshop at NPII in Amsterdam.
